Utilizing FISH Technology in Cancer Analysis and Aneuploidy

Genome instability leading to genome rearrangements and aneuploidy is a hallmark of cancer and is found in ~90% of solid tumors. Aneuploidy, the most deleterious form of genomic instability, is detrimental for normal cells.
Analysis of CIN in premature senescence in human primary fibroblasts using a variety of stressors reveals common patters of aneuploidy.
During the presentation we will discuss experimental approaches and challenges associated with the analysis of aneuploidy in non-tumor tissues and present approaches to overcome the difficulties associated with measuring low frequency aneuploidy.
