Defective hematopoietic differentiation of immune aplastic anemia

August 6, 2022

Applied Spectral Imaging (ASI) HiBand, digital chromosome analysis solution was used in a recent study published in “Cell Death and Disease”. The study named “Defective hematopoietic differentiation of immune aplastic anemia patient-derived iPSCs” derived induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) from patients diagnosed with immune Aplastic anemia (AA) who responded to intensive immunosuppressive therapy (IST), had normal-for-age telomeres, and carried no pathogenic variants in inherited AA-related genes by next-generation sequencing, and investigated their hematopoietic differentiation potential and telomere functionality. Study indicate that iPSCs are a reliable platform to model immune AA and recapitulate clinical phenotypes, and propose that the immune attack may cause specific epigenetic changes in the hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs) that limit adequate proliferation and differentiation.

Comprehensive analysis of genetic factors predicting overall survival in Myelodysplastic syndromes

July 31, 2022

Comprehensive analysis of genetic factors predicting overall survival in Myelodysplastic syndromes. Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) are a group of clonal hematological disease with high risk of progression to AML. Genetic lesions (Cytogenetic and Molecular mutations) are known to help in prognosticating the MDS patients. Accurate risk stratification is of importance for the proper management and treatment strategy planning of MDS. digital FISH analysis was carried out using ASI's HiFISH
